OPERATION
When it turns on after installing or replacing some HDDs, the system can not start. How can this be fixed?
Why does the recording mode not start?

OPERATION

Q

When it turns on after insatlling or replacing some HDDs, the system can not start. How can this be fixed?

A

<Checking points>
1. Make sure that the power cord is firmly connected to the power socket on the rear panel.
2. Make sure that the power switch on the rear panel is ON.
3. Make sure that both of power cable and S-ATA cable for certain HDD are correctly connected.

(NOTE)
In case that unrecognised system drive are placed due to loosened power cable or S-ATA cable,
another data drive will be assigned to system drive.
In order to fix this problem, you should change the BIOS settings.

How to change the BIOS settings;
1.During the time to display "SANYO" logo, press the "DEL" button. BIOS menu screen will be displayed.
2. Click the "Load Optimized Defaults" that is located in the right side.
3. Press the "Enter" button selecting "Y".
4. Press the "F10" button and then press the "Enter" button selecting "Y".
5. The BIOS settings are saved and finished.

Q

Why does the recording mode not start?


A


At initial time when it starts to record, the following time schedule should be set;
{ Settings ] -> [ Schedule ]
It will record in accordance with the settings of "Schedule".

Have the setting of data drive been done?
If there are no data drives , the recording will not be started.
Make sure that some data drives are available refering to the following;
[ Settings ] -> [ System ] -> [ Drive setting ]

Q

The alarm-recording time with some external sensor is longer. Why?

A

The alarm duration counter will start after the signal from external sensor ends.
For example;
Alarm duration time: 5 sec.
Input signal time from external sensor: 2 sec.
So the alarm-recording time is 7 seconds.

Why does it not return from "Thumbnail Search" mode?

A

Click the "Thumbnail Search"icon again in order to quit from "Thumbnail Search" mode.

There are no suspicion recording data after finishing the suspicion recording mode. Why?

A

The suspicion recording data are storaged as the normal recordings in accordance with normal recording settings for individual channel input.
So the suspicion recording data are available in normal recording time zone.

Why can the connection to DSR-HB8000 not be activated from the utility software?

A

In order to make this connection, the following setting is needed.
[ Settings ] -> [ Communication ] -> [ Gateway ]

How often should we replace fans?

A

This may be different depending on installation conditions.
We recommend to replace every two or threee years.

Q

What should we pay attention to when the firmware is installed or uninstalled?

A

The uninstallation of current firmware is needed when new firmware is installed.
After uninstallation, DSR-HB8000 is automaticall restarted and shows the Shell display of Windows XP Embedded.
Then install new firmware in accordance with the following steps;
1. Open "Explorer".
2. Select [ Setup.exe ] in [ DVR System ].
