6. Check the network setting.
7. Turn off the camera's power.
Note: This procedure let you connect to the Network Camera / Video Server at default value ( IP address:192.168.0.2, Port number:80) temporary. The settings are still memorized, so it is accessible at the set address turning off the power, and then turn the power back on.
8. Return the computer's IP address to its original setting.

Q

Live image does not display.

A

Please check following items;

- Is the lens installed to camera correctly?
- Is the JPEG2000 plug-in software installed to the PC?

Because we adapt the JPEG2000 format for the compression method, JPEG2000 plug in software is required to view the images.
After the installation of the JPEG2000 plug in software, the files ( J2KCORE.ocx, J2KCOREX.dll, J2KCORE.lic) are in the following folder.
- Windows 98 / Me : WINDOWS\SYTEM\
- Windows NT / 2000 / XP : WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\

- Is the Active X setting effective in the Internet Option Setting?
Put the "check" in the following items:

IE [Tools]-[Internet Options]-[Security]-[Custom Level]
- Active X Controls and Plug-ins : Run Active X Controls and Plug-ins "ENABLE"
- Scripting : Active Scripting "ENABLE"

- If the Camera, which is set to work with the Network Archiving Software, VA-SW2000, detected the alarm, live images could not be monitored while the alarm images are transmitted to the Local Server PC.

Q

Picture refresh speed is too slow.

A

Please check following items;

- Are FRAME RATE, COMPRESSION RATIO, RESOLUTION setting appropriate?
FRAME RATE : Five steps, Step 1 (Slowest) <-> Step 5 (Fastest)
COMPRESSION RATIO : Five steps, Step 1 (High compression <-> Step 5 (Low compression)
If a higher compression ratio is used (STEP 1), the volume of image data becomes smaller and the transmission speed becomes faster.
RESOLUTION : The higher the resolution (720x480), the larger is the volume of data.
IMAGE MODE : Data size would be reduced by 20% when IMAGE MODE is GRAY, so that the transmission speed can be reduced.

- Are several IE windows opened at the same time?
We recommend opening only one IE window for one PC.
- Is there other LOG IN users?
The refresh rate would decline according to the number of the users.
- Is the other application software (such as Anti-Virus Software, etc) in use?
The Network Camera / Video Server handles large volumes of image data that has been compressed into JPEG2000 format. In order to provide smooth access to the Camera / Video Server, we recommend closing any other applications.
- Is there enough margins in the network traffic?
In order to bring out the maximum ability from the Camera / Server, it is recommended to obtain 2 Mbps band for each Camera / Server.
- Is there any limits set in the Network Speed in the NETWORK SET?
- Is the PC specification appropriate?
Recommended system requirements
Pentium 4, 2GHz / Memory 256 MB or more
- Is there enough capacity in the system drive?
- When using Windows XP, confirm the Network Setting.
[START]-[Control Panel]-[Network Connections]-[LAN or High Speed Internet]-
[Local Area Connection], Right Click and open Properties.
In the Advanced Tab, see Internet Connection Firewall, and if there is check on "Internet Connection Firewall", delete the check.

Q

When using Network Video Server, some channel shows only Black and White picture although it is connecting Color Camera.

A

When both of the NTSC and PAL signals are connected to Network Video Server, all the channel would be automatically adjusted to the smallest channel which is in use from CH1 to CH4. Therefore, NTSC and PAL signals are mixed, the channel which is the other TV system would be in Black and White.
